Building Control

Through our surveying company Premier Guarantee Surveyors Limited, we are now able to offer our clients a complete building control solution, incorporating a range of services, including:

• Approved Inspector facility
• Building Regulations submissions
• Plan checking
• Consultancy services

Our building control services are carried out by our national network of fully trained and qualified surveyors. You will be assigned your own surveyor for each project you undertake, who will be on hand to assist you with any issues you might have throughout your build.

Our 5 key stage inspections

Our building control process is based around 5 key stage inspections, which if used alongside one of our warranties, can be carried out at the same time as your warranty inspections.

Foundations

Through analysing our claims information, we have identified foundations as the most costly type of claim that developers face. Our inspections are designed to reduce instances of foundation failure, and in turn reduce the likelihood of potential claims.

Superstructure

In terms of cost, claims related to superstructure come second only to foundations, and in terms of the number of claims raised, they are our biggest concern. The main areas of focus for these inspections are water penetration and structural stability.

Pre-plaster

This is our last inspection stage before internal elements are covered. This stage also gives us the opportunity to inspect any unseen parts of the superstructure, such as the roof framing.

Visual drainage before backfill

This inspection is used to ensure that your development has adequate drainage and that it is correctly connected to the backfill. Claims relating to inadequate or poorly constructed drainage are rising and can be costly to repair. This stage in our inspections has been designed to reduce the likelihood of these claims.

Pre-hand over

This final inspection stage is used to make sure the finish on your properties is up to the required standards. This stage also ensures that your properties are completed as far as is practically possible.
