Home Information Packs
The Home Information Pack (HIP) was introduced on 14th December 2007 by the Government
to ensure all necessary information is passed to homeowners when they move into
a new property.
We are able to offer developers a free HIP hosting service, allowing you to store
all the documents required to create your Home Information Packs.
Our service includes the sourcing of all compulsory elements of the HIP at very
competitive rates, as well as a cost-price printing service should documents be
required in hard-copy format.
A HIP contains a wide range of documents, including an Energy Performance Certificate
(EPC) which we can also provide as part of our range of services.
How does it work?
Home Information Packs contain a range of mandatory and optional documents which
need to be collated and presented to a new homeowner at handover.
Documents used to make up a HIP include:
Mandatory Documents
- Index – contents of the HIP
- Sale Statement – summarising the terms of sale
- Evidence of Title – Land Registry documents
- Searches – Local Authority enquiries and a drainage & water search
- Energy Performance Certificate
- Common hold information (where applicable)
- Copy of any leases (where applicable)
- Certificate for Code for Sustainable Homes (from May 1st)
Optional Documents
- Additional leasehold information
- Guarantees
- Warranties
- Other local seaches
Once each document has been sourced, Hipshop provides you with the facility to easily
store electronic versions on file and allows you to tailor each pack to each specific
unit on your development. As we can source all mandatory documents on your behalf,
once you have requested your HIP, all you need to do is wait for us to contact you,
confirming that your HIPs are complete.
Should you need to have hard-copies of your HIPs created, we can also provide a
cost-price printing and binding service.
We offer a complete Home Information Pack for £100, so for further information contact
