Your Warranty Cover Explained

Your Warranty Cover

We hope that you are enjoying living in your new home and you are settling in well.

If you are a recipient of a Premier Guarantee Warranty you have the benefit of being covered against structural faults or defects which may arise within 10 years of the build completion.

How does this warranty benefit me?

Structural faults can be extremely expensive to fix, and may not be covered by your standard house insurance policy, so having adequate protection in place is hugely important.

Having a Premier Guarantee warranty means you'll be looked after by one of the country's leading structural warranty providers which has helped many homeowners overcome major issues with their homes.

We have a dedicated claims team who will provide all the advice you need to get things sorted as quickly as possible as well as a free dispute resolution service.

Your new build home will have a minimum of 10 years structural warranty cover from the date of the completion of the property - our surveyor team make the final checks and issue what is called a 'Certificate of Acceptance' once they are happy that the house is ready to be lived in.

Before your home is complete (Insolvency of the developer during the build period)

If you have paid a deposit to a developer for a new home covered by our New Home Warranty, and the build hasn't started due to insolvency or fraud, this section of cover will help you to recover those costs.

Equally, if the developer doesn't complete a build for the same reasons as above, we will cover the costs of completing the home or refund your deposit. As standard, we will pay up to a maximum of 10% of the purchase price of your property or £100,000, whichever is less.

Defects Insurance Period

During the first 2 years of cover for New Homes, known as Defects Insurance Period (1 year for Social Housing Warranty cover), if you do find any problems with your home, it will be up to the developer to put things right. Make sure you keep hold of their details once you've bought your home and speak to them about the process of reporting problems.

If you can't come to an agreement with your developer about carrying out the repairs or they fail to carry them out, your structural warranty cover allows you to call Premier Guarantee and we will help you to get the work done as quickly as possible.

Your first point of call will be to call Premier Guarantee and let us know about your issue. We will then be able to tell you if you are covered under your warranty. We provide protection for the following elements of your home:
